Who we are
Arab-American Community Development Corporation (AACDC) was incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1997. The organization's mission is to empower the Arab-American community in the Greater Philadelphia region, promote its economic development, and combat racial, ethnic, and religious discrimination. The AACDC works to serve the complex needs of the estimated 25,000 to 30,000 Arab-Americans living in the five-county area. The AACDC works closely with various organizations in Philadelphia to aid Arab-Americans with immigration issues, health care, English as a second language, citizenship learning and more.
Arab-Americans
Arab-Americans came as immigrants to the United States over a century ago seeking political freedom and economic opportunities. Whether from Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Arab Americans are a diverse people, each community bringing its own rich traditions and cultures to pursue the American dream. Arab-Americans have played a crucial role in shaping institutions and communities across the nation through their entrepreneurial minds and skills. Associations and Partnerships
The AACDC is part of the National Network for Arab-American Communities (NNAAC) and works closely with the Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS) in Dearborn, Michigan.The AACDC is a member of Pennsylvania Immigration and Citizenship Coalition (PICC) and is proud to be partnering with the Nationalities Service Center (NSC) in Philadelphia to help Iraqi refugees.
